Austiag is a skilled and accomplished civil litigator and trial attorney.  He has extensive experience in federal and state courts, at both the trial and appellate levels.  His areas of practice include business litigation, real estate, intellectual property, personal injury, and employment disputes.  In addition to his active litigation and trial practice, Austiag frequently counsels clients in their general business dealings.

 

Prior to founding Parineh Law, Austiag honed his skills at a nationally recognized litigation boutique, where he handled complex commercial litigation matters.

 

Austiag earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology from the University of California, San Diego and holds a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School.  Austiag is admitted to practice law in the State of California and before the United States District Court for the Northern and Central Districts of California.  In addition to being licensed to practice law in California, Austiag is also a licensed Real Estate Broker with the Bureau of Real Estate.

Representative Matters / Successes

 

• Represented majority shareholders against minority shareholders in breach of contract action involving $100M+ real estate asset.  Settled case on favorable terms after mediation.

• Obtained seven-figure policy limits settlement on behalf of clients that were deceived by their real estate agent in a double escrow fraud scheme.

• Obtained seven-figure writ of attachment in breach of contract action involving real estate dispute.

• Successfully defended an $18 million breach of contract action brought by a subsidiary of a multi-billion dollar Japanese conglomerate during a six-day international arbitration, where plaintiffs walked with no net monetary damages.

• Obtained plaintiff side summary adjudication of approximately $500,000, on behalf of commercial landlord in breach of contract and fraud action.

• Negotiated “walk-away” settlement on behalf of Fortune-100 global retailer in class action alleging false and misleading advertising.

• Obtained $300,000 plaintiff side summary judgment against non-performing construction company and its principals; successfully defended appeal of summary judgment.

• Achieved complete dismissal of HIPAA action brought against major health care provider.

• Represented two minors in excessive force action against Southern California law enforcement agency.  Settled case on favorable terms prior to filing complaint.
